Here at Freedive Blue Marine Gili Air, our main priority is safety. During the freediving courses here in Gili Air you will learn all about safety and rescue procedures. To get started we have listed below a few of the main considerations to ensure that your freediving experiences stay as risk-free as possible:
ALWAYS FREEDIVE WITH A BUDDY!!
BE RELAXED - BREATHING SHOULD ALWAYS BE CALM AND SLOW - NEVER HYPERVENTILATE!!
CORRECT YOUR BUOYANCY - NEVER DIVE OVERWEIGHTED
BE SURE TO TAKE A REST INBETWEEN DIVES
REMOVE YOUR SNORKEL WHILST UNDERWATER
DON'T EXHALE DURING YOUR DIVE - NO BUBBLES = NO TROUBLES
NEVER PUSH YOUR LIMITS - BE SENSIBLE AND LISTEN TO YOUR BODY
BE SURE TO EQUALISE GENTLY AND OFTEN - EQUALISATIONS SHOULD NOT BE FORCED
LEAVE AT LEAST 12 HOURS BETWEEN SCUBA DIVING AND FREEDIVING
BE VISIBLE IN THE WATER - IDEALLY TAKE A SURFACE MARKER BUOY TO ALERT BOAT TRAFFIC OF YOUR PRESENCE
